Help Protect our Masjid and Community
Over time, security has unintentionally become a secondary focus, but that can no longer be the case. This is not just another initiative we can leave on the back burner.
Our masjid is filled with the people who matter most to us: our children, our parents, our siblings, and our community. Their safety has to be a top priority.
As Muslims, we place our trust in Allah, but we are also taught to take the necessary means. The Prophet ﷺ said, "Tie your camel and trust in Allah." Taking proactive steps to protect our community is part of fulfilling that responsibility.
Recent events, including the tragic shooting at a mosque in San Diego and anti Muslim remarks made by Indiana Lieutenant Governor Micah Beckwith, serve as reminders that we cannot afford to be complacent. We are at a point where we need to be preparing proactively rather than reacting after an incident occurs. The goal is not to live in fear, but to ensure that our community is prepared, protected, and supported.
Ensuring a secure environment requires planning and consistent support. To make this sustainable, we are establishing a dedicated Security Fund focused solely on strengthening and maintaining safety measures for our masjid. Security enhancements will be implemented in phases based on the needs of the community and available resources.
We ask everyone to recognize the importance of this effort and contribute however they can.
Security is not optional. It is a responsibility we all share. By making it a priority now, we are protecting what matters most and building a safer future for our community.
May Allah protect our masjid, our families, and our community, and may He bless all those who contribute to this important effort. Ameen.
